Albanians are a people with many needs! However, their needs are not just material or financial, but above all, they are spiritual. That is why most of all Albanians need Christ. The Word of God says in Acts 4:12, "And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved." (NASU) This is also our conviction in our work and prayer.

Meanwhile, the proclamation of the gospel is often inhibited by the forces of darkness and the ideologies of men. And so in praying for the people we also need to pray for the things that bind them, together with sin. Albanians have known Communism first hand for half a century and even today many of them still suffer from the consequences of those years of atheistic darkness.

But even though many people tried to keep their faith(s) during those times, often, that intrinsic desire to worship the true God was often misguided and uninformed. Christianity is only one of the many religions among Albanians today. And besides the newer religions and cults that have poured in, Islam has held the hearts of many captive for centuries. These and the newer religions and other humanistic ideologies stand now often in the way of the gospel.

Till today we have seen the Lord do great and mighty things. Through the prayers of many people around the world God allowed the curtains of Communism to fall. But that was only one of the many and great wonderful things that God has done in answer to the prayers of His people around the world. So that is why even today we are convinced about the power of God and his desire to move in answer to prayer.

As believers we want to see a great move of His Spirit in the days to come, so that many more souls will come to Him and be saved. We want to see many more bondages and obstacle broken in the lives of people and with God's help all is possible. So, please join us in prayer for this great people, but above all for His great Kingdom and Glory.
