ISRAEL 

Because of the sins of the children of Israel, the Lord scattered them among the nations. But the Lord promises in His word to gather His children again unto the promise land. The beginning of this promise was fulfilled when Israel became a nation on May 15^th 1948. As a result of Israel becoming a nation, Jews from distant countries are once again returning to their homeland. Pastor John Hagee writes in his prophecy study Bible: “The Jews from the north country (Russia) have returned to Israel by the tens of thousands as have Jewish people from around the globe. We have seen them on television newscasts disembarking from planes in Tel Aviv. We have read it in every form of print media. But we read it first in Jeremiah. It is another sign that we are the terminal generation.” The gathering of the Jews, the fulfillment of the word of God, is now taking place. The coming of the Lord is near. 

Charles G. Finney 

One of the greatest revivalists and ministers of the gospel in history was the late Charles G. Finney. Before he was saved he had his heart set on becoming a lawyer. But in his pursuit of law he came into contact with the Word of God. By himself, reading the word of God he quickly became convicted and eventually he had a glorious conversion. In his autobiography he writes about the power of God that came on him to lead men to Christ. Finney would be walking down the street and simply look at people and they would be convicted of their sins, repent and give their lives to the Lord. Because of that type of ministry people began to get saved everywhere he went. In a book that contains a collection of his writings he says: “Seize the earliest opportunity to converse with those around you who are careless (concerning their salvation). Do not put it off from day to day, thinking a better opportunity will come. You must seek an opportunity, and if none offers, make one. Appoint a time or place, and get an interview with your friend or neighbor, where you can speak to him freely…If you have any feeling for a particular individual, take an opportunity to converse with that individual while this feeling continues. If it is truly a benevolent feeling, you have reason to believe the Spirit of God is moving you to desire the salvation of his soul, and that God is ready to bless your efforts for his conversion. In such a case, make it the subject of special and importunate prayer, and seek an early opportunity to pour out all your heart to him, and bring him to Christ.” Revival Lectures: p. 177.

 How about you?

Do you see the Lord fulfilling his promises? He is gathering the children of Israel home. He is about to burst through the clouds and set His feet on the Mount of Olives. Do you see the lost around you? Take the opportunities that you have right now to speak to those around you. Do not wait another day; begin to share the good news with those that don’t have Jesus.
